Hi, I'm Alice!

I'm a freshman studying computer science at the University of California, Berkeley. I am interested in exploring the interdisciplinary applications of CS and creating impactful projects through collaboration.

Currently, you can find me...

  • 💎 Developing the technology and business model for my startup GEM, where we're creating wearable technology for personal safety.
  • 💁 Researching the sentiment foodservice and retail workers have towards their jobs in the Voss lab at Berkeley.
  • 🛠 Building Robohand, an open source robotic finger for the Jaco robotic arm from Kinova for those with limited or no upper limb mobility, as part of the EnableTech team.
  • 🌱 Learning the ins and outs of early stage founding in the inaugural cohort of the Afore Zero-to-1 Program.

In my free time, I'm an avid hackathon-goer and a tabletop game enthusiast (fun fact: I've played The Resistance: Avalon 421 times).

Elucidating Nanopore-Based Long-Read Sequencing Limitations By Investigating RNA Sequence and Structure Level Features

Simons Research Fellow || June 2020 - August 2020

Developed Python programs to analyze sequence and structure level RNA features that contribute to read truncation in long-read nanopore sequencing. Such research has potential implications in improving sequencing technology, which has applications that range from cancer research to water testing to forensics.
